【龍になる】

私の作品は「存在の有無」と「生命の形」を主題とし制作され、また視覚的な要素を持たないものを具現化することで、表面を越えてより深くモノを知ろうとしている。

このシリーズでは、種子島でのロケット打ち上げ後、現れた龍の姿をした雲を見た経験から、「存在との繋がり」を意識し作成している。龍とは天と地、あの世とこの世、交わらない２つを繋ぐ者、と言われており、私はこの感覚を光が溢れるかのような撮影手法で表現している。放たれている光の様子は、写した空間の生命そのものにも感じ、そして光は場所やモノとモノ、存在との繋がりを表しているかのようだ。

【What Holds Us Together】

Kishin Himori creates artworks on the themes of “the consciousness of existence or non-existence” and “the shape of lives”. He is striving to look beyond the surface by making visuals that may not have a visual component. 

In this series, He makes a conscious effort to capture the “connection with things”. Artworks are derived from his experience of seeing a cloud shaped like a Japanese dragon that appeared after launching a rocket on the island(Tanegashima).

Legend has it that a Japanese dragon is a creature connecting with two things never converge−the heavens and the earth, this life and afterlife. He expresses such a sense by photographing as if the light lines appear. Each situation seems like life itself, and the light lines seem to express the connection among these invisible things−places, things, and existence.
